Hi, I’m Quince. I am gripped by profound, big-picture questions about the individual and the collective, and the ever-changing world around them. I specialise in value theory (moral, social, political and legal philosophy), am competent in formal methods (metalogic, set theory, social choice, Bayesian epistemology), and am interested in metaphysics (essence, modality, grounding, laws of nature) and the philosophy of science more broadly.
I received my BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from King’s College London, where I was elected to the Associateship of King’s College and was selected to be the King’s Undergraduate Research Fellow in Bioethics 2024. Later, I received my MA in the Humanities (Philosophy) from the University of Chicago. My bachelor’s and master’s theses were on heritage ethics and special obligations respectively.
I am also passionate about documentary photography, cultural heritage, urban design and the greater creative ecosystem. I was a finalist in the 9th Singapore Young Photographer Award 2024 and was selected for the National Arts Council’s Noise Art Mentorship 2016. I strongly believe in the power of community arts and youth mentorship, and I have led several such initiatives over the years, the latest being Photovoice 10 (2021–2023).
